Colorwork's Traditional  Burmese

We're an in-home, boutique cattery located west of the Twin Cities, in Delano, Minnesota.

 

My husband Terry and I are avid animal lovers, have bred and exhibited Great Danes for 30 years, French Bulldogs for 10 years, and Traditional Burmese cats for 5 years. In dogs, we only produced litters when looking to add a family member to our personal home, so while we have years of experience, we have not / do not produce animals on a route schedule or in bulk.  Rather our focus is on quality and correctly raising and developing babies that meet the expectation and dreams of what a well raised, socialized family companion should be.

Terry is an independent EHS Safety Consultant and I am a director level Technology / Management Information Systems Consultant. We both have a hybrid work environment that allows us to balance the management of our horse business, family pets, and passion for occasionally raising animals. 

 

We live on our 12 acre horse farm, where we share our facility with a small number of mixed discipline Dressage, Hunter, Jumper, and Eventing riders / horse boarders. I began training horses in high school, moved into dog training in college (both obedience and service dog) and have worked with exotic cats, sea lions, and the crazy, passionate people who own them for going on 40 years.  I possess a lifelong passion for understanding animal behavior, instinctual motivation, natural development, and am always striving to further educate myself. 

 

We raise wonderfully socialized, healthy, structurally correct, lovable kittens. At Colorwork Burmese, we take pride in being a responsible and ethical breeder. We keep our number of pets to a minimum to ensure they all receive the love, attention, and care each deserves and to ensure we have quality time to spend enjoying them, rather than strictly managing their needs and routine care.  

 

We believe in providing our kittens with the best possible care, nutrition, and socialization, while supporting our buyers for the lifetime of their pet and sharing our experience with others when needed. . Our breeding program is focused on producing healthy, happy, and well-adjusted kittens that will make great family companions with the qualities needs for the show ring. We strive to maintain the breed standard, produce beautiful Burmese "type",  while also working to maintain / improve the overall health and temperament of the Burmese breed.
